Is it over already?

Wednesday, June 28th, 2006

You’ve always heard that “time flies” and that the older you are the faster it goes.  I never believed it or placed much thought in that saying until last week.  I took my wife and three kids to the beach for our annual vacation.  We were ready to leave the jewelery store and all its cares behind.  I caught up on all repairs and custom jobs and my wife had all orders placed, we were ready!!  With car packed and kids in tow we left for the beach,  YEAH!!!!

The first thing I noticed, when we arrived at our destination, is that we were without cell phones.  God works in mysterious ways!!  No sooner had we arrived than it was time to pack up and go home!  Sure we had spent many hour playing in the sand, swimming in the pool and eating great food, but I was not ready to come home.  None the less our lease was up no matter how much I begged for an extra couple of days, I couldn’t get them.

Funny thing about vacation, even when you’re away from work it doesn’t stop comming to you.  I left a clean desk on Monday and returned to a war zone that had been hit by a tornado and thrown into a pig pen.  It was not pretty.  I’m not complaining about work, thank the Lord for it, but I’m not good at playing catch-up.  Anyway while all this is happening I noticed the June was all but over.  Where did it go?  Like they say “time flies….when you’re having fun”  and I believe in having fun.  My job is great and no matter what, it is a blessing to be here everyday.  And the best part is….we’re closed July the 3rd and 4th!!

If you didn’t know it yet Apex has a new movie theater.  Yes, in little ole Apex.  However, the Apex location has a couple of things that Cary doesn’t.  Butter dispensers that customers can use to cover there popcorn!!  Get as much as you want!!  Oh yeah and Hollands Jewelers.  We were approached with the opportunitey to advertise on the new screens and after much haggling settled on a price and ad design.    So far so good.  We have had great response those who have seen it.   Hopefully when other shops open in that area, (Dicks, T.J. Max, Barnes and Nobles) that the traffic will increase for the theater.  But right now the theather stands virtually alone.  It’s great to have so many things to do in APex now and in the near future!!  We really are the “PEAK OF GOOD LIVING”!!!!!!!

Memorial Day

After a couple of busy weeks getting others ready for graduation, it was good to have some time off on Monday.  The hot items for this year for young ladies were pearls, silver jewelery and anything with a colored stone.  White gold, of course, is still the color of choice.  For young men watches with a personal engraving on the back were a great choice as well as other items that could be engraved.  Congradulations to all our graduates at Apex High School and all our other neighboring schools.  Best of Luck and God bless!!!!!
