Big kid toys

You’ve all heard the saying.  The difference between boys and men are the price of there toys.  It is soooo true.  We just got a new toy for the me to play with.  The only problem with this new toy is that it actually creates more work for me and more options for you.  it is the latest version of a jewelery design program called GEMVISION.  I’ve had my eye on this particular toy… I mean tool… for a couple of years but the timing was not right.  We do a fair amount of custom design jewelery but this program will not only open the doors to new worlds of designs, it will open the flood gates of choices for you!!!

We now have the ability to scan pictures and make a piece of jewelery or we can start from scratch with your ideas.  Changes can be made along the way to “tweek”  the model and make it just right.   The sky is really the limit.

I will start my two week training in Chicago this November, just in time for Christmas.  I believe that custom designs are the wave of the future.  It’s exciting to have a piece of jewelery that is yours alone that you won’t see others wearing.   Come by and I’ll make something for you!!!!

Back from Antwerp

Each year around September or October we take our annual buying trip to Antwerp, Belgum.  This is the highlight of our year as we stock up on diamonds for the holiday season.  It all started about 10 years ago, we are a member of IJO, a private buying group, that allowed us access to the diamond district in Antwerp.  This is no small feet.  The diamond district is probably one of the most guarded areas in the country because of the vast amount of diamonds located there.  Once on the inside we have our favorite diamond cutters that we contact for specific diamond needs.

This year we came back with some fabulous diamonds including a 2.00 carat, D color, VS2 diamond that was ideal cut.  It sizzled!!!!!  Most of what we bring home are D/E/F/G color and VS1/VS2/SI1 clarity.  We concentrate on rounds, ovals, princess and marquise cut diamonds as these are the most requested cuts for todays bride.  I’ve been here personally for about 11 years and I still get a chill when I see these diamond set into an engagement ring.  Each are one of a kind and hand picked for you.
