All the colors of life.

I am blessed to work in the jewelery industry.  Each and every day I am surrounded by some of the most precious gems in the world, and it is easy to take that for granted.  Jewelery is magical!!  I am always amazed when a lady comes in our store for a routine prong check, and she can tell you when, where, and how her ring was given to her.  Even when it was decades ago.  That gift of jewelery to her was etched in stone as set in her heart and mind, forever.  How many gifts can you give that will have that kind of lasting effect?

I remember the way I felt when a gentleman presented his wife of 45 years a handmade diamond anniversary band, in our store.  I was almost as excited as she was and you could see on their faces that they were the world to each other. It makes everything worth while and reminds us why we are here.  We are here to celebrate anniversaries, new babies in your lives, the beginning of marriage, the restoration of memories and milestones that we’ve come to and passed over. We are honored to share these times with you, thank you!!!

What’s In Moline, Illinois?

Absolutely nothing!!  I’m here in my hotel room trying to learn our new GemVision CAD program and missing home.  All in all not a bad place to be in. Very little traffic and friendly people, all 14 of them.  Unless you have business in Moline or family, you’ll probably never get here.  I mean,  this is not exactly a hot vacation spot.  The main draws to the area I’m in are as follows: the John Deere capital of the world,  5 mile long trains,  and lots and lots of cows.  You’ll realize this when you get off the plane and the air smells like a dairy farm.  Brings back memories of high school and cow tipping, but that’s another story for another time.  As for the class it is actually going great.  The teachers are some of the best I’ve ever had.  There is alot to learn and a large learning curve, but well worth it in the log run.  Holland’s will be able to speed up the custom design process and take two to three weeks of the completion time.  I enjoy learning new things that will help our customers have more choices when it comes to their personal jewelery.

All kidding aside, this is a nice area with lots of open spaces.  I’m on the riverfront and the view is beautiful.  God is good and He made some breathtaking places on this earth,  this is not one of them.  I can’t wait to be home.
