Quickie

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

Just wanted to give a quick update about our web site.  There will be a Q & A section added.  We are always getting questions asked to us, how to clean jewelry, is it o.k to swim with my jewelry on, how often should i get my rings checked, etc.  So we are dedicating a section on the site to answer any questions you have, no matter how strange.  Believe me, we get those too.  The wierdest questions I think I’ve ever been asked was from an older lady.  She came in with lots of worn out rings that each contianed several small diamonds.  After looking through manyl books trying to find a place for these diamonds she asked me “can’t you just melt these small diamonds together and make them into a larger one?”.  As I laughed, I realized that she was not kidding.  My bad, but that is only something God can do.  Anyway, please email me your questions, I will answer them to the best of my knowledge, and I won’t use you name, or make fun of your question.  Promise.

IJO Fall Jewelry Show

Friday, July 20th, 2007

For the past 5 days, Ginny and I were in Orlando, FL. for some rest and business. Twice a year IJO ( independant jewelers organization) travels to beautiful locations to host educational seminars, and jewelry buying galleries. I must admit, there are some fab. styles out this fall. We spent two days in seminars that range from lighting, displays, websites, and business in general. I know sounds like fun. Well the fun doesn’t start till these things are over. The hotel we stayed at, Marriot World Center, was a resort that was about two miles from Disney. Each night Gin and I sat outside and watched the fireworks over the Magic Kingdom. One of the most exciting things about the trip, was the small tropical storm that came though and tore part of the roof off and knocked down some trees. Not to big of a deal, except that the part of the roof that was torn off was over the buying room where there were no less than 2000 people, perfect timing. No one was harmed and we got a free banquet out of it, Yeah us. But you’ll be happy to know that Ginny and I went a little over budget and purchased bunches of beautiful treasures. Yeah for you. Over the next two to three weeks goodies sould start to pour into our store. We are planning to dedicate one area of the store to all the new things that we will be getting, to make them convenient to find. Come by and see all the new exciting styles and get a head start on Christmas. Don’t forget, we have free lay-a-way. If you would like to be notified by email of our events, please let us know by email or phone and will be happy to let you know in advance. Our email can be found on our website with a direct link, it is hollandsjewelers@bellsouth.net . Thanks for reading. (the next blog will get back to our staff highlights)DSCN0041.JPG
