Is service dead?

How important is good service to you?  I love going to an establishment that gives me service above and beyond the norm.  In fact I will go out of my way and pay more money if I know that I will be given “special treatment”.  For example, there is a coffee shop in town that knows what my personal drink is when I walk in the door and my name.  Sure I can make coffee just as good at home, for a lot less money, but it is just not the same.  On the flip side of that is poor service, which I loathe!!  Last weekend the family and I went out to breakfast, a rare treat.  Instead of a fast food place we went somewhere better, or so I thought.  Let’s call the place “hiflop”.  We were seated promptly and the place was less than half full.  After being passed by no less that 10 to 15 servers (I use the term loosely) and waiting nearly 18 min. I flagged down someone and asked if they could take our order.  His reply was “it’s not my section but I’ll try to find your waiter”.  After another five minutes or so she showed up, huffing and puffing.  It was obvious that she would rather be anywhere but here helping us.  I politely informed her that my family and I were leaving and would not be back to inconvenience them anymore.  We left and went to the best breakfast in town, CHICK-fIL-A .  There we got happy faces, great service and good food for a lot less money.
What is the point to all this?  Our #1 goal at Holland’s, above everything else, is to give you our undivided attention and unsurpassed SERVICE that will WOW you.  We try to go above and beyond all expectations because everyone matters.  From the simple watch battery to the engagement ring, we are here for you and because of you!!  We believe that service to you, for all your jewelry related needs, is the most important part of business today.  Service is not dead at Holland’s.
