Time Management

2009 here we come!!! How can this year be over so quick? I had a huge list of things to accomplish in 2008 and I don’t think I made a dint in it. Clean the attic, clean under the house, get caught up with appraisals at work, get rid of the clutter in the vault (5 year plan) and many more things that only depress me to mention. Some days I think, there are too many hours in a day. Other days I think, there are not enough hour in a day. Life goes on and the new year approaches with all the opportunities it has to offer. This year the #1 item on my list is not to make any more list. The #2 item on the list that I’m not gonna make, is to spend more time with my family and friends. Hopefully spending more time with these people will keep them from things on their to-do-list then I won’t feel so bad. Confused? ME TOO! Happy New Year.

Christmas time is here!!

Thursday, December 25th, 2008

Well, it’s nearly here.  Christmas is just a few short hours away and our store is getting quiet.  All the lay-a-ways have been picked up, all orders have been filled and lots of tiny boxes have been wrapped.  We are so excited to spend time with our families and friends as I’m sure you are.  This Christmas don’t forget the real reason we celebrate, Jesus came to earth as a baby and gave us the ultimate gift.  Thank you all so much for allowing us to be apart of your Christmas, with a little Holland box under your tree.   We hope you have a blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year!!  Now, I have time for a quick nap to recharge my battery.

Unusual pair

Saturday, December 20th, 2008

In the last two weeks I’ve made two engagement rings.  What’s unusual about these two rings are the shape of the gems included.  Emerald cut diamonds and colored accent gems.  Over the past 14 years I can list on one hand how many emerald cut, diamond engagement rings I’ve set.  Not many.  So to have two so close together is a little strange to me.  Also, with colored side gems in not very common.  One ring has beautiful, premium colored emeralds.  The other has medium, strong blue sapphires.  These rings are real head-turners.

Christmas Cards

Friday, December 12th, 2008

I love Christmas cards!  Not the sending part the getting part.  They usually start trickling in near the end of November and continue through Christmas and sometimes into the New Year.   COMBO!!  My wife is the card writer in our house and this year we’re sending pictures.  I keep telling her that our friends see enough of us, why send them a photo.   Needless to say I was photo shopped out of this years picture.  I used to be where the bunch of poinsettias are, good job right?   All kidding aside, I am humbled and honored with all the folks that remember us during the Holidays.  That old saying is true, “He who has friends is a wealthy man”.

Open House

Monday, December 8th, 2008

If you weren’t here this Friday or Saturday then you missed a great time.  We gave away silver charm bracelets, $50 gift cards and more!!  As usual there is always lots of goodies left over, so we took them out to the Christmas parade and fed the masses, and ourselves.  The food ran out long before the parade was over.

Only 17 days left till Christmas!!  DSCN0429.JPG
